Biofeedback is the process that uses special, non-invasive instruments attached to the body in order to ‘feedback’ information to help an individual correct certain conditions.

A good, everyday example would be the use of a mirror to help with makeup or combing hair – the mirror is a biofeedback device. EEG Biofeedback and Neurofeedback are terms used when the treatment involves the brain. Practice is key to creating lasting, beneficial behavior.

Neurofeedback is a technique that uses special sensors attached to the head that record brain activity and then ‘feedback’ information to help correct any conditions that the individual may be experiencing.

Changes in brain wave patterns can be readily felt and experienced, while observed on instruments, usually projected onto monitors or computer screens.

This type of ‘feedback treatment’ is known as EEG Biofeedback, or Neurofeedback. It allows an individual to learn how to modulate and self-regulate their brain activity.
